Shepard Commander

Lately I've been on a Mass Effect kick and thought I'd do some fanart of Shepard for fun. I started this Sunday night and finished it Tuesday afternoon.

Sketchy Sketches

Well, as of last Monday I finished up my sophomore year at Ringling. So I'm halfway done.

In other news, here are some sketches I did over the year. Just a couple of character designs and thumbnails, a few from life doodles, you know, the usual stuff.

Some thumbnails from my final illustration assignment, a couple of creatures from China Miéville's Bas Lag books, and some doodles from the day I spent stuck at the Mini dealership when they didn't fix my car.

Until Gwen

Our latest project in Illustration was to illustrate a scene from the short story "Until Gwen" by Dennis Lehane. I decided I'd pull out the old pen and inks and try a traditional piece this time round. Thiel also had me try out some colors in photoshop afterwards pictured here:

The Snow Queen

Our midterm project for my Illustration class was a two page spread illustration of a story we remembered from our childhood. I had a book of classic children's stories, which I still have today, that had The Wizard of Oz, Pinnochio, Country Mouse and City Mouse, and The Snow Queen in it and I just fell in love with The Snow Queen. Thus, the logical choice for me was to illustrate this classic fairy tale.
